Hey I’m Barbara!

Nice to meet you!  I am a native German language coach.

Since an early age I’ve been fascinated by languages. As a teen I decided to work in the hotel trade to move away from the basics of “the cat is under the table” and “Where is the train station?” which, let’s be honest, will not be of much help in real life.

Now, I get to help people with their German language skills, coaching them with the words and grammar they actually need as well as their pronunciation, so they can speak German with self-confidence in the everyday situations they find themselves in.

I’m very honoured to help amazing people articulate themselves in a different language which helps them to set them apart from others. The German language and culture is evolving constantly and I find it fascinating to pass on this knowledge.

I’m passionate about showing people the love for expressing themselves in a language other than their own.

Confused about when to address someone with "du" or "Sie" in German??

I know it is confusing, right! I bet you had a few head scratching moments in the past.
This easy to understand guide will help you with the fundamentals of the so-called "duzen" und "Siezen". Just enter your email below and the guide* will be delivered to your inbox!

Barbara has been my German language tutor for a number of months now. She is a fantastic tutor who creates enjoyable (though taxing!) lessons and is very patient. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone seeking to improve their German language skills, no matter their starting level.

We were fortunate enough to find Barbara after an online search. It was clear that as a native speaker with children of her own she understood the needs of our grade 5 bi-lingual daughter.

The lessons are always fun and inventive to keep our daughter engaged in the session. I would not hesitate to recommend Barbara to anyone looking for a German tutor.
